Artist Bio
Kinga Szopinska is an illustrator and muralist who’s work deals with ideas of isolation and displacement. She works on various scale projects as an individual and as part of socially engaged community murals. She is originally from Nowy Targ, Poland, and is currently living in Chicago where she completed her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has received a Merit Scholarship from SAIC in 2015 and the Projects for Peace grant in 2019 to start her own workshop and mural program. Kinga has displayed her artwork in The Wilbur Wright College Art Show, the SAIC BFA show, Belmont-Lincoln Chicago Public Library and Oak Park Village Hall. Her mural work can also be found around the city of Chicago at the North Riverside Park Mall, Oak Park Green Line Train Stop and as part of team projects created by Green Star Movement.
