Artist’s Bio
Joe Miller is an interdisciplinary artist whose primary focus lives in painting. Miller received his MFA from University of Chicago in 2008, where he worked with Catherine Sullivan and Theaster Gates on a number of multi-media and public projects. His own work consists of primarily of large-scale mural projects in both domestic and public venues throughout Chicagoland and New York City. He is also involved in holding seminars, speaking on public art practices and volunteers his time to engage with urban youth throughout the Mid-west. Recent completions consist of a 10,000 sq ft mural in the Back of the Yards neighborhood at The Plant and leading a month-long collaboration workshop in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
